THE CHEMBUR CHILDREN'S HOME,
MANKHURD (ESTD : 1939)

Based on the soundest of all principles that every lad should be trained to grow up as a respectable member of the Society with a clear conscience and ability to earn a living, this Home was in fact, the brain child of late K.M. Munshi. It’s an open Institution for children committed by Child Welfare Board and the Child Welfare Committee.

The Salient Features of the Home are :

1. 50 boys in one cottage under one House Master.
   
   
2. Sheltered care and medical services.
   
   
3. Facilities  for  Formal  Education  and  Vocational  Training. 
   
   
4. Facilities for Indoor and Outdoor games.     
     
5. Case Work Practice and Vocational Guidance.
   

This Home has a sanctioned strength of 375 boys
